Common questions
What is the NRSWA theory test?
Each street works unit is assessed by a theory test of 20 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes, with 16 out of 20 needed to pass, alongside a practical assessment where the unit requires one. Confirm the current format with your assessment centre before you sit it.
Which certificates do I need?
Everyone needs LA. Operatives then take the O units for the work they do, and supervisors the S units. O1 is a key certificate for every other O unit, and S1 for every other S unit — if a key certificate expires, the units that depend on it stop being valid.
Does this app award a street works card?
No. It is revision material only. Cards are issued by the registered assessment bodies after you pass their assessments; nothing here is a qualification, an assessment or an endorsement.
Does it cover Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland?
Not yet — the question bank is written for England. Reinstatement specifications and some duties differ elsewhere in the UK, so questions written for England would be misleading if applied to another nation.
